Ingredients:
2 Sticks butter
1/3 cup oil
2 1/2 cup sugar
3 1/2 cup cake flour
6 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon vanilla flavor

Directions:
Mix first three ingredients together on high until fluffy.
Next, add one egg at a time. Add all dry ingredients & slowly add sour cream. Mix well at medium speed. Pour in to 3 9″ cake pans. Bake at 325 for 35 minutes or until done. While cake is cooling, prepare caramel frosting.

Caramel frosting ingredients:
3 cups domino sugar
1 stick butter
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 egg

Caramel frosting directions:
Mix all together well. Beat 1 egg then add to mix, mix well. Once all is mixed well, cook on medium heat stir often. Once all sugar crystals are gone, brown 1/4 cup sugar until it’s a light amber color do not burn. Stir until all looks light caramel color. This is where it gets a little tricky. Watch as the caramel boils slowly, back to a bubbly rush soon it will slow down. Do a touch test cooling a drop of mixture in a glass bowl. Lightly touch with ring finger. If it’s not ready it will be sticky. When it’s ready, your touch will be clean it will not stick to your finger.
